(Autoresponders)
Autoresponders (using Procmail)

Hosting Plans: Pack Leader and above

In your root directory you have a file named sample.procmailrc, and .procmail and autoresponders directories. Those are used for auto-responders.

To set-up an autoresponder:
  • 1 Edit the sample.procmailrc file as necessary (instructions and details within),

  • 2 Rename it to .procmailrc (in Telnet, mv sample.procmailrc .procmailrc; or rename it using your FTP program's rename function),

  • 3 Then upload the file of the autoresponder E-mail reply text to the autoresponders directory (eg. for info@yourdomain.com.au upload info.txt to the autoresponders directory)

  • 4 Add a .forward file to your home directory with the following line (the quotes are required):

    "|IFS=' ' && exec /usr/local/bin/procmail -f- || exit 75 #your-login"

    (replace your-login with your actual login).

  • 5. Add the following line to your email.fwd (in the case of info@yourdomain.com.au):

    info@yourdomain.com.au your-login

  • 6. That's all there is to it! You are able to add and use as many autoresponders as you'd like at no extra charges.

    Remember that the email.fwd file entry will only take after the next server update.
